Whether your preparing for your first baby or your second (or third or more!), bringing home a new baby is one of the most wonderful, exciting, and joyous experiences in life. At the same time, motherhood can also be exhausting, overwhelming, and lonely.

Our professionally-led, peer support groups provide a safe, supportive environment in which mums just like you come together to support each other navigate the ups and downs of new motherhood. Learn through guided group discussions, share your experiences, and connect with yourself and other mums.

A GROUP FOR EVERY MUM

FIRST-TIME MUMS OF TINY ONES

10-session, professionally-led peer support group for first-time mums. You can join this group anytime between 36-weeks pregnant and 4-weeks postpartum.

SECOND- AND THIRD-TIME (PLUS!) MUMS

10-session professionally-led peer support group for mums who have done it before. You can join this group anytime with a child from newborn up to 3-years.

FIRST-TIME MUMS OF LITTLE ONES

10-session, professionally-led peer support group for first-time mums. You can join this group anytime with a child between 5-weeks old and 3-years.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Ten consecutive, 90-minute group sessions, facilitated by a Well-Being Centre psychologist, with no more than eight participants per group.

the birth of a mother: the transition to motherhood

recognising and responding to your emotional needs during the peripartum period 

postpartum depression/anxiety and overwhelm 

self-care

navigating your new day-to-day (scheduling, sleep, feeding, and everything else!)

fears and hopes as mothers in relation to how we were mothered (what kind of mother do I want to be - who am I?)

fostering connection and attachment with your baby

psychologically flexible parenting

the “good enough mother”

the dark side of motherhood: everything we don’t talk about (fear, frustration, regret, anger, irritability etc.)

challenging the myths of motherhood

sleep

balancing time, love, attention between multiple children

supporting your child/children transition to their new role as a big sibling 

collaborative co-parenting

couples care: maintaining connection and intimacy
